Volunteer Appreciation Dinner 2012

Dear Leaders,

Attached you will find a flyer for our upcoming Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. This is the time when we celebrate YOU, the dedicated and hard-working leaders and members of our Service Unit who volunteer their time to make Girl Scouts great.

This year the appreciation dinner will be held at the beautiful new Community Center at Sweetwater Summit on Thursday, May 24th from 6 – 9 pm. For those who aren’t familiar with Sweetwater Summit, it is a beautiful campground and day use area located within Sweetwater Regional Park. It is located east of Bonita and borders the Sweetwater Reservoir. The Community Center has beautiful views of the reservoir as well as an outdoor patio right on the edge of the reservoir.

The cost is $15 per person and it is ok to use cookie money to pay for this event. Feel free to invite co-leaders, cookie moms, treasurers, camp moms, or any troop parents who you would like to recognize for their hard work.

Please be sure to send your payment to Michelle Echevarria, our SU Recognitions Chairperson, as soon as possible. She will then send you information on how to apply for special recognitions for your troop leaders.

The last day to sign up for the dinner is May 17th, which is also our last Service Unit meeting of the school year. However, as Michelle points out on the flyer, if you sign up on that date, you will have very limited time to apply for recognitions for your leaders. So please try to send in your registrations earlier.

As we mentioned at the last Service Unit meeting, during the appreciation dinner we will be holding a raffle for some great camp and outdoor equipment that you can win for your troop. You can earn raffle tickets by turning in your financials on time, completing your troop’s re-registrations on time, and volunteering for a position on our Service Unit Team. There will be more information at the May service unit meeting on the raffle.

Please consider joining us on May 24th for our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, and enjoy an evening of food, friends, and fun as we celebrate all of our hard work this year. :)
