Upcoming Events:

Maytime Review – Saturday Oct 7, National City.  Parade starts at Tidelands Park and Bay Marina Drive to Pepper Park (about one mile).  Sunnytrails will register as a group so there is no need for troops to register individually.  RSVP deadline is tomorrow, Friday, Sept 15.  Please RSVP to Cathy Ecija at managerdbr@gssunnytrails.com.  Sarah Ruiz will be the contact the day of the event.  Further details to follow.

Volunteer Conference and Celebration recap Thank you to all participants & volunteers, and to Elisa Hilliard for organizing our SU. Congratulations to Consuelo Quintanar on being awarded the Honor Pin, which recognizes adults who have delivered outstanding service to two or more service unit areas or program delivery audiences.

Looking for Encampment Director – The Service Unit is looking for someone to take over the role of Encampment Director. Consuelo will continue in this role this year but would like to mentor someone this year, so she can transition smoothly to serve next year.  Please let Consuelo or SU manager know if you are interested.

Looking for a Co-chair for Recognitions Chair – Narda Hirn.  The SU is looking for someone to Co-chair to recognize our amazing volunteers. Please let Narda or SU manager know if you are interested.

Next Service Unit Meeting: Thursday October 19, 2017 at 7pm @ Elk Lodge

Ana Amaral talked about Otay Valley regional park.  Her class at HTH is partnering with the ranger to increase community awareness of the park and the events they have to offer.  Best of all it is free.  First event Sept 30 @ 9:00 am to noon at the Lower Otay Reservoir.  Building a fishing rod and fishing all free.  Explore the hidden jewel in the South Bay.
