REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

What to Know

Training and Progression:

To get ready for this encampment, adults, please take Basic Overnights (45 min, online course). This training is required before girls can go cabin camping or if your troop plans to attend a service unit encampment or council-sponsored Adventure Weekends where program activities and meals are provided and girls lodge in cabins. At least one adult in attendance must have this training.

To take this course: Log in to My GS with your Girl Scout email and password. Select gsLearn and then the Content Library (on left). Search on “Basic Overnights.”

Please talk to your troops and families to make sure that everyone is ready. Keeping progression in mind is key, as the majority of our troops have not been able to camp in almost 2 years. If your troop is not ready, don’t worry—we will have plenty of opportunities in the next coming months!

Safety:

Review Chapter 4 – Safety of the Volunteer Essentials. Each Troop is responsible for having a first aid certified adult in attendance in addition to safety-wise ratio compliance and complete the necessary paperwork: Transporting Girl Scouts: A Message to Volunteer Drivers, Troop or Event Permission Form for Single Activities, Girl Health History and Annual Permission Form, and Adult Health History Form.

Located in the northwest corner of Balboa Park, our Balboa Campus serves as Girl Scouts San Diego’s headquarters and offers space for meetings, camping and activities. Each of four levels (the Upper Level, and levels 1, 2 and 3) is secured through tall fencing and locked gates. We will have access to all Levels.

Food Options:

All meals will be catered for the weekend. Please note that food is not allowed in sleeping quarters.
